Q: Is this a toy kids can play with in water or is it for display only?

A: Hi there! As a diorama for Jaws fans, this set is mainly designed with display in mind and the boat doesn't float in water. - John, LEGO® Customer Service

Jaws was the first scary movie I ever saw, and a movie that has held up well over the decades. When I saw this set, I knew I had to own it. Overall, great set. Love all the details, the minifigures and how well this set displays. The only issue is the fragility of the bow of the Orca. For me this was minor as it allows the boat to look more accurate, but I could see how it might frustrate others. Very happy with this set.
One of the best builds, very fun

Worth saving for, the enjoyment dives deep through this set from the first piece to the last. Careful with the string/rigging and I suggest asking someone to help tie the knots. The easter eggs allow fans of the movie to catch and release their own thrill, truely a summer spectacle. I'd rate the minifigs a 3.5 out of 5, and the shark has a couple of inconsistencies on gill direction and tail shape. When displayed, the set looks amazing and outswims in its overall design and buildability.

I absolutely love this set! It’s one of those builds that makes you appreciate the effort LEGO puts into their designs. If you’re on the fence about getting it, I highly recommend it—you won’t regret it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently picked this up as a Christmas gift for my brother and wow! This was impressive. The moment I got it I knew this was going to be special. I was excited for him to pry it open on Christmas day and build it. After a couple hours of building it. The final product did not disappoint. Honestly the final build is incredibly smooth and well-engineered. Lego has come so far from stubby builds to very creatively built sets. Especially the shark, it’s an animal but Lego managed to make a faithful adaptation and a convincing mimicry of the real animal. The amount of display options is highly appreciated and fun to do. Most sets do not come with a base which is unique and honestly compliments both the boat and shark and allows my brother to recreate scenes from the movie. I love the minimal number of stickers that were applied on the build as, I’m not the biggest fan of stickers. They’re extremely annoying to apply with my fat grubby fingers. It’s an incredible build not only as a Lego set but as a community submitted build. I highly recommend this to any Lego collectors or fans of the classic Jaws movie!

A fun set. Not to difficult to build. A couple of stages needed a second look at the instructions. The boat was enjoyable. I love all the little details. Some you only see while building it. But you know they are there. Bruce the shark had some interesting build techniques. A smaller build but probably my favourite part. One down side is Bruce that if you display the shark in the set you have half a shark on a stand stuck in a draw. Looks good as a display piece.

My first ever advanced set. Enjoyable experience. As mentioned in other reviews had difficulty with some of the bottom of the boat pieces staying attached. Ended up adding just a little glue. But its the bottom and isn’t visible.

I am a self confessed Lego nerd. I love everything about it. I started my collection with sets from 80's movies then was hooked and have over 30 large sets on display . I loved building the Jaws set and the fact that you can display the boat and shark separately or as a ocean scene is brilliant . It was a really fun build with lots of cool items to assemble, even scuba air tanks ! The mini figures always add to a set and these were spot on!
Fabulous detail

This is the largest set I've completed in my later years, having recently rediscovered my love of lego. It was a 50th present, ideal to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Jaws. I found it mostly straightforward to do, the hardest part I'd say was 'Bruce', some bits were tricky. However, for my 1st large set I didn't find it too bad at all. I love all the little details, it's a shame you have detail inside the cabin which you can't really see when completed. Nice that there is an option to display for the full shark although I prefer it all on the base.

Had always wanted a lego boat! this bought to celebrate 50 years of Jaws and my daughter's 50th birthday. It looks fabulous and has so much detail on it. Will be the centrepiece of her birthday table.

This set was fun to build, I had got this for Christmas in 2024. I've always wanted Lego to make a jaw set and they did! It would be nice to see future movie sets as well from Lego.

I was excited to get and build this set. I’m also a huge fans of the movie. But honestly, it felt like there was little to no thought to the build. Base was flimsy and when you would add a piece other pieces would detach. Design of the build felt rushed and more thought should have done. Was not as enjoyable as my other builds.

The front of the boat was flimsy at best. Bricks didn’t have a snug fit.

I'm thoroughly impressed with this set, from the easy to follow instructions, to to all the details of the ship. The scale is great too, and bigger than I would have thought. Here's hoping we get some more great diorama sets like this in the future.

I’m not only a Jaws enthusiast, but a lover of sharks as well. When I saw this set, I hit purchase the same day it dropped. Building Bruce was straight forward and a fun build. When you get to the boat however, that’s when it gets a little bit iffy. I’ve been building for a while and consider myself a skilled builder. The way the boat is built, upside down in some parts and only held together by a few small pieces in others, made for a somewhat difficult build. (Again, only really in the bow/hull part of the boat) I can see Lego builders of all skill ranges have some difficulties. It doesn’t take away from the spectacular scene once it’s all put together. I at least wanted to mention this. It’s stunning on display and a great set for any Jaws or shark lover that’s for sure.

I bought this last year when it was first released and waited forever to get it built. This was one of the worst builds ever. The boat felt flimsy once built and some parts on the shark were hard to understand the directions.

The second I saw this set I gasped and grabbed it. I’m usually very picky about which sets I spend my money on but I was immediately so excited for this one, and it did not disappoint. The ship in specific is so detailed and was so much fun to build. Definitely recommend!

I found the boat design to be a bt weak in parts where several times I had parts break off or colapse while assembling. I felt it didn't have the usual strong construction design of other sets. The shark was very well designed and looks fantastic, I love the option to either display it on the stand or as part of the diorama.

So much fun putting together. Details are amazing. And, putting Quint in Jaws mouth, when done building, was the best!
